So I was driving to work this afternoon and glimpsed the sun shining in this tree next to the highway. I pulled off the road and got off a shot. It pays to take the camera along.

The Cascades at Burgess Falls State Park: “
Michael Tuuk has added a photo to the pool:

Taken at Burgess Falls State Park near Sparta, TN. If my memory serves me correctly this section of the falls is called the cascades and is above the upper falls.
There are a thousand great views of the river and the various falls. However, getting a good shot can be tricky due to lots of trees and brush along the banks. We also had bright, mid-day sun which meant very high contrast b/w the sunny and shade areas.
3-exposure HDR

Captured a shot with Jim (jimnix on flickr, www.nomadicpursuits.com) to show the tremendous scale of this place. Jim is to the left of the falls (in the red jacket). View large if you can’t see him…

St. Johns on a Rainy Night: “

What a rainy, miserable photoshoot this was. I decided to stop by St. Johns on my way home from work last night. It was rainy and windy and my camera lens was attracting water like a magnet attracts nails. I’ll try again on a better night when I can keep the camera still.
