While waiting for the fireworks to start. I snapped a couple of pictures of the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. I couldn’t have asked for a better sky.

This is a part of the LDS Nauvoo Temple in Illinois. Hand carved out of Limestone, there are nine of these sunstones on the sides of the building and another six on both the front and back of the building.
I had been out walking around, forgetting to eat in the hot humid climate of this day, so my usual spaced out-ness became much worse, and I set my ISO at 1000 though there was plenty of light. I kept wondering why I needed to set the f/stop to f/14 and higher with remarkably short shutter speeds.
Thank heaven for Noise Ninja and a cool photoshop trick that helps reduce noise. This shot was close to being a gonner!

As long as I’m uploading temple pics, I thought I should include this one. A Beautiful place in every way, Nauvoo was a highlight of our trip. I saw a bald eagle flying over the Mississippi just before arriving to this spot. I wished I had my 200mm on me.

Yep, I’m showing my Mormon roots again! This was the last stop along our trip across the nation. The temple actually seems small when viewed next to the skyscrapers that are nearby. This trip across the nation allowed me to photograph three LDS Temples. I’ll be posting Nauvoo soon.
